Birista (Crispy fried onions)


The traditional way to make fried onions is to deep fry them. Having gone health conscious, I used the Microwave.


Clean one large onion, remove the root and chop fine. Add 1 tsp oil and coat the onion slices well.


Microwave for 2 minutes, check on it as they tend to burn easily. Toss them a bit. Repeat.


You will need about 9 minutes in all. Or a few minutes more.


You may find it is not crisp. Leave them at room temperature and the onion slices will turn crisp.
