Greek Loukoumades

These are super fluffy, pillowy donuts, I have given it a twist of sugar glazing and melted chocolate.

Collect it:

· 2 cups Maida

· 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk (for a

lactose version use regular milk)

· 1.5 tsp instant yeast

· 2 tblsp butter

· 1 egg

· 2 tblsp sugar

· 1/2 tsp salt

· A pinch of nutmeg

· A pinch of cinnamon powder

· Oil for frying

For sugar and chocolate garnish

· 1/2 cup powdered sugar

· 100 gms melted chocolate

Make it:

Mix milk, yeast and sugar together and let it froth for 15 minutes. (DO NOT PROCEED IF THE MIXTURE DOES NOT FROTH). Start again.

In a deep bowl, add maida, egg, butter, salt, and mix well. Add cinnamon and nutmeg and keep aside.

Add the milk mixture to the bowl and make a thick batter. Almost like a idli batter.

Cover and let the dough proof for almost 2.5 hours or till it doubles.

Heat oil. Drop in spoonfuls into medium hot oil.

For sugar and chocolate glazing:

Drop in hot fried Loukoumades directly into powdered sugar and coat well.

Drizzle melted chocolate on the sugar coated Loukoumades.

Serve warm.
