Masala peanuts (oil free)
Inspiration for this comes from a recipe which I tweaked to make it oil free.
Masala for coating peanuts:-
1/3 cup gram flour
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1/2 tsp amchur powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
2 Pinch Baking Soda
1 Pinch hing (Asafoetida)
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Peanuts (Raw)
2 tbsp water
Mix all ingredients of masala for coating peanuts. Set aside.
Fill water till Peanut level and drain almost immediately.
Mix the peanuts in the masala.
Add additional 2 tbsp water to coat peanuts with masala completely.
Place in a microwave safe flat dish and microwave for 4 minutes. Preferably spread the peanuts from each other if you don’t do that you will have to follow the next step.
Once done, flip peanuts other side and separate peanuts if they are sticking to one another. This risks the coating coming off so careful.
Microwave for another 3
minutes.Cool them completely and enjoy.
These can be stored in air tight containers.
